Difference between warehouse management and WMS
The terms warehouse management and WMS are often mixed together. For small businesses, the distinction matters because it helps avoid projects that are too large for the actual need.
Simple warehouse management
Simple warehouse management helps teams keep items, storage locations, stock levels and movements traceable.
It is mostly about clarity: what exists, where it is stored, what changed and who can still understand the process afterwards.
WMS
A WMS can go much further: complex workflows, deep ERP integration, automation, control and optimization.
Those systems have their place, especially in larger or automated environments. They also usually require more planning, more implementation effort and clearer project structures.
Inventaro
Inventaro is deliberately on the pragmatic side: simple warehouse management for mostly manual processes.
It is not an enterprise WMS, not material flow control and not software for controlling automated equipment.
